The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 1999. The department is headed by Prof. Dr.K.Sundaramoorthy with strong knowledge in Information Science and Technology domain and IT industrial exposure. The department is currently walking briskly towards with highly dynamic and dedicated team of faculty members and with technically certified supporting staffs. The Department Academicians are from various reputed universities with high educational engineering qualifications which mainly belong to current technological research areas. This makes it one of the (top colleges for information technology in Chennai.)

Welcome to Department of Information and Technology. The curriculum intensive coaching and hands-on course work give students a holistic view of the field. Taught by our faculty, students will be able to explore subjects critical to advancement in today high tech society. The department seeks to combine excellence in education with service to the industry. The expertise of faculties is broad to provide students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences that enable them to serve a variety of societal needs. Students are nurtured to become best in the industry or become Entrepreneurs in their own.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO)

  • PEO 1: To ensure graduates will be proficient in utilizing the fundamental knowledge of basic sciences, mathematics and Information Technology for the applications relevant to various streams of Engineering and Technology.
  • PEO 2: To enrich graduates with the core competencies necessary for applying knowledge of computers and telecommunications equipment to store, retrieve, transmit, manipulate and analyze data in the context of business enterprise.
  • PEO 3: To enable graduates to think logically, pursue lifelong learning and will have the capacity to understand technical issues related to computing systems and to design optimal solutions.
  • PEO 4: To enable graduates to develop hardware and software systems by understanding the importance of social, business and environmental needs in the human context.
  • PEO 5: To enable graduates to gain employment in organizations and establish themselves as professionals by applying their technical skills to solve real world problems and meet the diversified needs of industry, academia and research.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)

  • PSO 1: Proficiency to effectively integrate IT-based solutions for contemporary cross-functional applications.
  • PSO 2: Ability to analyze, design, implement and evaluate the information systems with ethics, to meet the local and global requirements for scientific and industry solutions.
