As per UGC and Anna University Ref letter no3654/SA 1/2011,no.15999/DSA/2011.We inform you that University Grants Commission, New Delhi has issued a public notice on anti ragging.It is brought to the notice of our college students and other stakeholders that ragging is a criminal offence and UGC has framed regulations against ragging. The regulations have been notified on UGC website www.ugc.ac.in. As per Anna University letter Lr.no.3654/SA 1/2011 in our college anti ragging cell is formed. The following are ragging and rules of anti ragging cell.

SOME EXAMPLES OF DIFFERENT FORMS OF RAGGING, AMONG OTHERS, HIT BY THE ABOVE STATED DEFINITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Verbal and psychological abuse


Physical abuse:

  • Beating the fresher.

  • Pointing objects at the fresher with the knowledge that it may cause injury or causing actual injuries

  • Making the fresher to slap him/herself if he doesn’t do an act properly

  • Making the fresher drink or eat something, which he wouldn’t otherwise do

  • Take rounds if the college ground.

Sexual abuse:


Some examples are:

  • Strip down to bare essentials or even worse

  • Masturbate in public

  • Touching of private parts; etc.

Punishment includes

  • Two year imprisonment

  • Fine to the tune of Rs.2 lakhs

  • Dismissal from the education institution
  • Shall not be admitted in any other education institution.

  • His /her scholarship can be withdrawn
