Being noted as one of the best institutions for Biomedical Engineering in Tamil Nadu, the department has endowed multidisciplinary application among engineering principles in medical field. The students are bestowed with deep and strong fundamentals in engineering principles allied to medical technology. The department has expertise faculty members, imparting high-end subject knowledge to the students. The department possesses well-equipped laboratory infrastructure to cater the need of students. These remarkable features facilitate the department to inculcate robust knowledge in students. Our curriculum is designed in such a way that it ensures a strong fundamental in biomedical engineering.


HOD's Desk

Biomedical Engineering Program was introduced at Jerusalem College of Engineering in the academic year 2005-06, with a sanctioned intake of 54 students. The department is being functioning effectively under the guidance of Dr. Sheeja V. Francis. The department has highly qualified faculty members who work tirelessly towards betterment of the department. The Biomedical Engineering Association was inaugurated in the year 2008 by Prof. Dr. M. Ramasubba Reddy, Professor, Head of Laboratory, Biomedical Engineering Group, Department of Applied Mechanics, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. The department provides a challenging environment to the students to build their potential so as to develop competent professionals. The department possesses well-equipped laboratories to propel the research instinct of students. The department also encourages the students to excel in extra-curricular activities apart from academics. The students and faculty share a great rapport among themselves which proves to be the underlying factor behind the academic excellence of the students.

Department of Biomedical engineering is committed to produce globally competent medical engineers with ethical and social considerations and to foster their intellectual growth in multi-disciplinary fields for improving human condition and healthy nation building..
