Mr.T.K.Sedhumadhavan, an Alumnus of 2019-23, Dept.of Biomedical Engineering delivered a Seminar to III year students which was organised in collaboration with IE(I) and BMESI on 08.04.24 between 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm.

A 5-days Value Added Course on 'Simulation of Enmbedded System using Proteus' was organised from 11.3.24 to 15.3.24.

We're happy to share that we have organized a 5 Days FDP (Virtual Mode) on "Automation and Analytics in Smart Healthcare" from 11 to 15 December 2023. National Level faculties, Research Scholars actively participated in the virtual event .

Greetings from BME! Department of Biomedical Engineering organised a Hospital visit cum Training at TagoreMedical College & Hospital, Rathinamangalam, Chennai for three days (15.11.23–17.11.23). As Hospital training is a part of our curriculum, it is required to give training inleading multi specialized hospital for our Final year B.E Biomedical Engineering students.

Greetings from BME! The Healthaware club in our department is involved in creating health awareness and promoting general well-being of the community by organizing several health-related programs. In this regard, we had conducted an online event, "Health awareness Slogan Contest, "concerning creation of awareness on health. The event was open to students of all years of various departments. A total of 24 entries was received for the contest.

Greetings from BME! The inaugural function of BMEA was held on 20.09.2023 at the College Auditorium. Dr. Mahesh Veezhinathan, Associate Vice-President, Forge Innovation and Ventures, an organization which is specially with a vision to activate innovative tech, product or business ideas & accelerate them to become investable startups. The newly elected Office bearers of BMEA was announced and the Chief Guest congratulated and offered them the medallion to the newly elected Student Council members, the Biomedical Engineer's Association and the Healthaware Club Coordinators

The Institute Innovation Cell of our college that carries out activities under the guidance and support of Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC), aiming to systematically promote the culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship had conducted an activity titled " "Workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Career Opportunity" " on November 21, 2023, at our college Seminar Hall between 1.00 p.m and 2.30 p.m in association with the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. J. Sofia Bobby, Head, Department of BME and Ms. S. Purnima, Assistant Professor / BME & The innovation ambassador, JCE-IIC, was the resource person for the program. Students pursuing their third year were the participants in the program. A total of Around 80 students attended and benefited from the program.

A one-day Medical Camp 2023 was successfully conducted by BioEquip Club of BME Department on 22 September, 2023 in association with Prashanth Super Specialty Hospitals, Velachery, Chennai. Around 125 members, including faculty, staffs and students, visited & benefited from the camp.

Greetings from BME! BioEquip Club Event of BME Department successfully conducted 'Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Quiz' for BME Students on 21 September, 2023 . One final winning team (Preansy Angel and Jayadurga of II-year BME) was selected out of 23 registered teams.

Greetings from BME! Curtain Raiser - Smart India Hackathon 2023 was conducted on 14.09.2033 (Thursday) at the Department of Biomedical Engineering. 3 best teams were selected for the next round by the juries. Students actively participated and presented their ideas on the problem statements. This event was conducted by BioEquip Club.

Greetings from BME! A seminar on "Ultrasound Scan and Transducer" was organized for II, III, and IV Year Students on September 20, 2023. The resource person was Mr. Srikanth Dhanraj, Director, Ultraserve Systems, Chennai. The session was more interactive and demonstrated the latest ultrasound probes.

We're happy to share that we have organized a seminar on "Trends in Urology and Surgical Robots" for III and IV-year BME students by Dr. Somanath Sharma, Consultant Urologist, Uro-Oncologist, and Andrologist, Chennai Urology and Research Institute Hospital, Thoraipakkam, Chennai, on September 15, 2023, as a part of academic activities.

Advanced-Level Medical Equipment Training

A guest lecture on 'maintenance of critical care equipment and career opportunities' was organised for all students of BME on 23.01.2023 (Monday) from 10.00 a.m to 11.00 a.m at The Auditorium-JCE. The resource persons were Mr. Vinoth Kumar Kannan, Admin - KAV Biomedical, Madurai and Mr. Franklin, (B.E) Entrepreneur.

A seminar under Alumni Interaction Series was organised for all students of BME on 23.01.2023 (Monday) from 01.30 p.m to 03.00 p.m at The Auditorium-JCE. The seminar was entitled "Career Guidance on Bio-Engineering and Medical Device Technology". The resource persons were Mr.Amarendra Nath Y, Associate Director, (Biomedical), Skill Lync, Chennai and Mrs.P.N.Saranya, Alumnus (2014 Batch) Senior Project Manager, Siemens - India. An awareness session on 'Virtual Labs: A MoE - Govt. of India Initiative' was conducted for all the students at the Digital Image Processing Lab (Third floor, Main Block) on 21.11.2022 from 10.10 a.m to 11.40 a.m. All students were provided with a PC - Internet facility to simulate and experiment with the virtual labs related to their curriculum.

REPORT ON IIC CALENDER DRIVEN ACTIVITY

RAYZ' 2K22, One-day National Level Technical Symposia was successfully conducted on 08 October, 2022 (Saturday). A common inauguration for BME and ECE symposium was held at the auditorium between 09.00 a.m and 10.00 a.m.

On account of WORLD HEART DAY, three events were organized on 28.09.2022 (Wednesday) under BioEquip Club of BME Department.

Augmentation Cell has facilitated - IIT PALS- Technology speaks - EVENT , topic - '3D Printing and it's Applications', for BME students through Live streaming at our seminar hall today (1.30- 3.00pm).

A two-days Workshop and Hands-on Training on "Real time Data Acquisitions and Analysis in Biosignal Processing using Advanced Technology" was organized on 13 and 14 September, 2022 for third and final year BME students. Dr. K. Baskaran ME, PhD, MISTE., Bio Medical Engineer & South Regional Manager, Gentech Marketing and Distribution Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, was the resource person. Dr.J.Sofia Bobby addressed the gathering. Ms.C.L. Annapoorani, Assistant Professor, organized and coordinated the event.

Biomedical Engineer's Association Inauguration was celebrated on 13 September, 2022

We express our profound joy in signing a 'Memorandum of Understanding' on 13 September, 2022, with Medcuore Medical Solutions pvt., ltd., Chennai. Mr. Paul Pradeep, Founder & CEO and Ms. Geetha Balasubramani, Co-Founder & Chief Research Officer were addressed by our Head of the Department - Dr.J.Sofia Bobby at our college campus for signing the MoU. Dr.M.S.Jeyalakshmi, Associate Professor is the MoU coordinator.

A Guest Lecture on "Building an enterprise for antibodies: Journey of an Entrepreneur" was organized on 6 September, 2022 for II year BME students between 10.30 a.m and 11.40 a.m. Dr. Rajeshwari, Founder & Managing Director, Bioklone Biotech Pvt., Ltd., Chennai was the resource person. Head of the Department, Dr. J. Sofia Bobby addressed the gathering and felicitated the guest. Ms.B.Nivetha organized and coordinated the event.

Hospital visit #Day1 to 'Curi Hospital', Perungudi, Chennai, was arranged for the final year BME students. They were made to visit various equipment in the laboratory services, dialysis unit, CSSD, ICU, Imaging Department. Ms. S. Purnima, Assistant professor and Ms. B. Nivetha, Assistant professor organised the hospital visit. Ms.C.L. Annapoorani, Assistant Professor accompanied the students.

A guest lecture on 'Evolution of robotics and current status' was organised on 02.09.2022 from 02.00 p.m to 03.00 p.m for the III & IV year BME students.

A two-days workshop and hands-on training was organized on 24 and 25 August, 2022 for second and third year BME students. Dr. S. Atheena Milagi Pandian, Founder, Atheenapandian pvt. ltd., Chennai/Courtallam, was the resource person. Head of the Department, Dr. J.
