Classrooms Facilities:

All our classrooms are located in the third floor, Main block. We ensure effective learning experience with LCD displays, OHP projectors and other necessary audio accessories. They are designed to promote maximum interaction and practical understanding among the students. Everyday maintenance of classroom is ensured for safety and cleanliness. All classrooms are planned with sufficient ventilation.

Best practices that we follow for effective learning are model demonstration, video presentations, hospital visits to enhance the understanding of anatomy and physiology, analysis of bio signals using LabView and Matlab software, study of surgical/therapeutic procedures through medical simulation, tech talks, seminar presentations and live demonstration of portable and handheld equipment in the classroom.

Laboratory Facilities:

The following laboratories are available in the Department.

  • Biochemistry & Human Physiology Lab

    The lab is equipped with facilities that teach fundamentals of human metabolism. Our lab possesses equipment such as spectrophotometer, colorimeters, centrifuge, microscopes, human organ models, electronic balance.

  • Biomedical Instrumentation Lab

    The lab is facilitated with devices that does analysis of various physiological parameters. Recording and analysis of ECG, EEG, EMG, EOG, Real time VEP Measurement, Biotelemetry measures, Respiratory analysis using Spirometer, NCV Measurement, Pulse measurement, Doppler Shift Blood Flow velocity measurement are performed in this lab.

  • Circuits & ICs lab

    The lab is equipped such as to design and implement the circuits to gain knowledge on performance and application of an electronic device. The lab possesses Digital Trainer kit, CRO, FG, ICs, for MUX and DEMUX, Encoder, Decoder, logic gates, Instrumentation amplifier, Oscillator, Integrator and Differentiator measurements

  • Diagnostic & Therapeutic Equipments Lab

    Devices in this lab teaches the concepts of human-instrument system and problems encountered in obtaining measurements from a living body. LabVIEW and MATLAB software for Analysis of Bio-signal, Short Wave Diathermy Unit, Arrhythmia Simulator, Ultra Sound Diathermy Unit, Electro Surgical Diathermy, Pace Maker, Defibrillator, Electrical safety analyzer are available in this lab.

  • Digital Image Processing Lab

    This lab is designed to teach basics of image processing. Designing the image processing blocks and performing image filtering, image enhancement, edge detection etc. are performed in the computers systems with MATLAB software.

  • Digital Signal Processing Lab

    This lab is designed to understand biomedical signals using advanced signal processing and estimation analysis methods and to enhance the knowledge of pathophysiology through the investigation of behaviour that manifests in physiologic signals. The lab is equipped with Systems with MATLAB software for signal processing.

  • Pathology & Microbiology Lab

    The lab provides theoretical and practical training for observation of living systems, particularly microorganisms and biomolecules in-vitro. Growth of bacterial culture and inoculation, tissue sectioning and processing using microtome, are performed in this lab using various equipment like incubator, centrifuge, spectrophotometer, high resolution microscopes colorimeter and autoclave.

  • Research Lab

    The lab is equipped with systems, ventilator units and defibrillators for research purpose. This lab is utilized to carryout project and research related activities. It possesses in-house made solar powered wheel chair. To execute the project work in an efficient way, this lab is equipped with computers with internet facility. Advanced software like MATLAB, PSpice, LabVIEW are installed in all the systems for project and research purposes.
