Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering started in the Year 2013 with complete blend of technical subjects involving both Electronics and Instrumentation fields imparting adequate knowledge and expertise. The aim of the department is to produce graduate engineers capable of handling design, construction, and maintenance of modern instrumentation systems. The Department is actively engaged in teaching and research with top-notch laboratories and excellent members of faculty, turning out to be the (best college for electronics instrumentation). It is a multi-disciplinary stream and covers subjects from various branches such as chemical, mechanical, electrical, electronics and computers.
Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is a specialized branch primarily focusing on the principles and operations of measuring instruments used in the design and configuration of automated systems .It is also multi–disciplinary branch focusing on the measurement, control and automation in the fields Viz. the Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Power generation, Process control, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Food Processing, Bio-Medical, Bio-Tech etc. The department endeavors to develop competent Electronics and Instrumentation Engineer with high academic credentials and adapt to the current trends. The graduates of Electronics and Instrumentation engineering will be able to analyze, design, develop and realize solutions to complex engineering problems of their specialization. Dr.V.Jamuna is Professor and Head in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering Department, Jerusalem College of Engineering, Chennai, India. She has secured fifth university rank in the P.G. degree. She has been working in the teaching field for about 20 years, including 14 years of research experience in the field of Drives, Power Converters, Multilevel inverters and Green energy systems. She has published over 140 technical papers in national and international conference proceedings / journals. She is a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education, Institution of Engineers, Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and International Association of Engineers. She received the total fund of Rs. Twenty Lakhs from AICTE, New Delhi, Institution of Engineers, Kolkatta under MODROB, SDP, RPS and funded project schemes. She had received the Best Teacher award during the year 2013 and Best Women Achiever award during the year 2017. Under her guidance five scholars have successfully completed the doctoral programme and she is currently guiding 4 research scholars at Anna University.
